Why I Started Tend

A few years ago, my cat Jax nearly died. A routine cleaning service came through our home, and the residue they left behind poisoned him. He ended up on IV fluids at the emergency vet. He survived, but I couldn’t stop thinking about what those same chemicals were doing to the rest of us, slowly and invisibly, every single day.

I started paying attention. I learned that most conventional cleaning products contain endocrine disruptors, respiratory irritants, and compounds that linger on your countertops, floors, and furniture long after the cleaning crew leaves.

When I went looking for a cleaning service in Orange County that used genuinely non-toxic products, not “green-washed,” not “eco-friendly” on the label with the same harmful ingredients inside, I couldn’t find one.

So I built one.

Every product we use is fully transparent. No synthetic fragrance, no VOCs, no residue you’d worry about your toddler crawling through or your dog licking off the floor. Your home should be your private wellness sanctuary. Tend makes it possible to have a truly clean home without compromising the health of the people and pets who live in it.
